The following I liked about the Hotel:- Security Ocean view Proximity to other facilities / restaurantcs, Beach etc Courtyard with my unit, very nice Car parking
The first room offered (202) was called an upgrade - to Level 2!! and on the fornt but with virtually no view of the ocean - and was awful. The decor is incredibly dated and looking worse for wear. The carpet had a bad smell and this was noticeable on entry. The entire place is run down and in depserate need of refurbishment. I did not feel comfortable in this room and did not want to spend any time in it. We objected and asked for another room, which we were provded with o nthe subsequent nights. The next room (605) was ideal. It was refurbished (carpet replaced with bright, large tiles -which is perfect for the climate and usage) and the view was great. We were very happy in this room but would not return to Zanzibar unless we were certain the room was of a suitable standard. in fact, if we do re-visit - which is a possibility - we will stay in 605 or nothing as, after our first attempt, we do not trust rooms that are sight unseen.
E joyed the view and access to restaurants beach shops
The location was fabulous....layout of 3 bdrm unit was great except bedrooms very small and kitchen layout strange...beds need upgrading as does the lounge .
The young woman who checked us in was fantastic...friendly and helpful. Very focused on customer service. The woman named Meredith who was there other days was very rude, very unhelpful, had a real nasty attitude and sadly our great week is tainted by her very obnoxious behaviour. She would do absolutely nothing to assist guests.
view, courtyard and outdoor spa, air conditioning, quality of furniture, decor
equipped with only 6 of cutlery, crocery etc hence need to hand wash between meals.
Great location, ocean views, balcony with morning sun, loads of restaurants/cafes close by.
Front desk lady was a bit unfriendly.
The staff were very freindly and helpful. Really great location, well equipped unit.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, fantastic location
Pool area could do with more shade structures. Some of the equipment in the unit is getting a little dated
It was very close to both the beach and to all the restaurants and shops which made our stay very enjoyable.
The pool area was quite small and could become quite crowded. There was not much furniture around the pool area for guests
Location, layout of rooms, excellent ocean view, very comfortable for 6 adults, close to beach, close to shops, good restaurants in near vicinity
There was a young girl on the front desk on the Monday that we left - she was the only one who had any public relations idea out of the reception staff. So many things were either not working or in very bad condition in 3 rooms that we booked there - O'Brien, Willmett & Geddes. We spoke to lots of people staying on that same week end - the same opinion - some had gone to the trouble of writting lists - I couldn't be bothered doing their job - we will never stay there again. The only thing good about it was the position.
Everything was great about the mantra Zanzibar Just perfect, views excellent kids enjoyed the pool and the spa
They just need to let you know before u get there that u need a 300 dollar cash deposit when checking in or a 100 dollar credit card deposit
Everything else, the place is grubby, very dated and needs a "complete refurb" @ $680.00 per night it should be 5 star, it would at best be 3 - air con broke down, curtains missing, dish washer, pots appliances and furniture need dumped - no daily cleaning and no materials or equipment for you to clean - rooms are serviced every 6-8 days @ that price ? - no free wifi - sent the manager a text with no response, so no concern
